An Introduction to the Islamic Identity of Architecture & Urbanism [1]

Abstract:
This research is based on a specific concern in Islamic culture Christianizing on
architecture & urbanism content, which have been neglected from different
aspects, especially in globalization & information technology era. For example
in case of Tehran, consideration has given to the economic values which cause
the ignorance of the substantial architectural principles & paradigms. The aim of
this research is an investigation to the Islamic notions & identity in relation to
the architecture & urbanism. In the other hand, these research efforts to the
identification of theoretical & rational propositions in a lengthwise relationship
and then evaluation of samples based on these items.
A literature analysis & comparative method based on Islamic notions was used for
this research. The results of this research presented in three domains. First, emphasized
on starting researches based on philosophical schools of authors. Consideration to the
principles such as sense of unity, process from appearance to conscience and categorizing
qualitative & quantitative goals is proposed too. Second, the review of syllabus contents,
analysis of theoretical Courses by teachers, education of teachers for understanding
epistemological & art philosophy issues and finally the importance of economic,
social and technical aspects of design in schools & faculties. Third, in practice and
executive domain, prevention of spectacular developments from one hand &
encourage for researches & inquires by adequate experts have been recommended, in other hand.
